When I became pregnant with my first child, Liam, I started becoming much more aware of my body and the environment around it, as didn’t want to expose my unborn child to anything that could potentially harm him. My awareness increased when he was born and I was faced with the decisions of formula or breast milk, to vaccinate or not to vaccinate, and what kinds of cleaning products to use that are kid friendly. I became overwhelmed as I sifted through a ton of information, not knowing what information was coming from a valid source. I was frustrated to not be able to find the information I wanted in an organized and timely fashion; I would spend hours on end trying to get was I was looking for. I also faced the frustration of realizing that there are so many people who are oblivious to the data I was finding. I know that every parent wants what’s best or his/her children, so in my mind it only makes sense that other parents would want to know about the information I was coming across. I mean, if my neighbor only knew what I knew, surely he wouldn’t have his children playing on a lawn covered in the pesticides that he had sprayed only days before. I began to learn that for some people, ignorance is bliss, unaware that this bliss has a time limit. My goal with this site is NOT to preach my beliefs (at least I’ll try not to!), but to provide you with the information to make your own informed choices.
